I had driven by this location back in 2007 with a friend, wishing the light was right to take a photo of the area. It’s not easy to make what is essentially a hill and a couple fences look good in a photo. I stored the desired shot in my memory and moved on.

I came back in January of this year and took this shot a little closer to sunset.

I know, it’s far from perfect. The sky is blown out and the only thing that makes it a little interesting is the fog, but I’m still proud that I was able to get the shot at all. A few moments later the mist had mostly gone and all that was left was a hill and a couple fences again. Sadly, there were a few horses in the distance that I just wasn’t able to work into the photo.

I’ve made it out to this location once since. It was sunny that day and the look of the area was completely different, so the photos I took were of very different things. I’m sure I’ll make it back to the area later on this year or early next year and will try again. Maybe I can get some mist, horses, and a nice blue sky with clouds next time. Here’s to dreaming of that perfect shot…
